My Husband-to-be Rocks!

Today I didn't feel great. So, my amazing Husband-to-be cleaned the kitchen for me. Dishes, trash, etc. He's so good to me.

I am so thankful for him. He loves me more than I ever imagine any man could. I am so blessed. I thank God every day for him.

IT'S OFFICIAL!!!

WE'RE ENGAGED!!!

Matthew and I drove to NC yesterday to bring his daughter home. I had my alarm set for 4:45 am, so we could leave by 6am. Well, he woke me up at 4:30am. I said, "What are you doing?" He said "You told me you were getting up at 4:30am." He sat there for a minute. I repeated myself. "What are you doing?" He held out the ring, saying "I was gonna ask you a question." I sat up straight, my eyes wide. He said "Will you marry me?" I said "YES!".

Simple. To the point. Perfect.

He is so amazing. I have been on cloud nine ever since. We met my parents in Knoxville, on our way to NC. They had gone to Bristol the night before for the race. When they got to the restaurant, I said "Are you ready?" They looked at me with confused faces. I held out my hand. My mom said "HE DID IT!" LOL! He had asked my parents 3 weeks ago for permission to marry me. Everyone thought he would do it last Friday, which was our 9 month anniversary. And one year before our wedding. (We've known for a few months that we were gonna get married. It just wasn't official. LOL!)

SO now it is official. Let the planning begin!

YAY!!!

This will touch your heart

I have to post this. My heart aches every time I hear this song. To think about the loss of a child. Todd and Angie Smith lost their baby girl Audrey Caroline. (Todd is in the christian group Selah.)

Here is the video:

I Will Carry You

There were photographs I wanted to take
Things I wanted to show you
Sing sweet lullabies, wipe your teary eyes
Who could love you like this?
People say that I am brave but I'm not
Truth is I'm barely hanging on
But there's a greater story
Written long before me
Because He loves you like this

So I will carry you
While your heart beats here
Long beyond the empty cradle
Through the coming years
I will carry youAll my life
And I will praise the One whose chosen me
To carry you

Such a short time
Such a long road
All this madness
But I know
That the silence
Has brought me to His voice
And He says...I've shown her photographs of time beginning
Walked her through the parted seas
Angel lullabies, no more teary eyes
Who could love her like this?

I will carry you
While your heart beats here
Long beyond the empty cradle
Through the coming years
I will carry you
All your life
And I will praise the One whose chosen Me
To carry you
Posted by Angie Smith

Doesn't it just get to you? Even if you've never lost a child, or even if you're not a parent.

Selah is my all time favorite group. Their music makes me think of the worship we will experience in Heaven. So amazing.

Something Else

I just thought of something else to say! LOL!

Remember my blog swap stuff that Amy sent me? Well, I made tiramisu the other night with the mix. OH MY GOSH is it YUMMY! It's almost all gone. The directions to make it are on the back of the package. You take either lady fingers or pound cake and dip that into strong coffee or espresso and layer them with the cheese mix. The cheese mix also has whipped cream in it. You sprinkle the topping on top or cocoa on top. I did both. Let it sit for 4 hours and then enjoy. OH MY YUM!

I didn't take a picture of it, but maybe I'll take a picture of the last bit. Hehe.

I've been working on my blog.

I don't have much to say today. Maybe more tomorrow.

31 Days of Praying for my Husband-to-be: Day 31

~~~~~*~~~~~
Day 31
Pray that your husband will recognize the lies of the Enemy in his life. Pray that his attitudes and actions will be guided by the truth as he brings his thoughts into captivity to the Word of God.
John 8:44
For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.
31 Days of Praying for my Husband-to-be: Day 30
~~~~~*~~~~~

Day 30
Pray that your husband will serve God and others with pure motives. Pray that he will obey the Lord from his heart, and glorify Him in everything.

1 Corinthians 10:13
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

John 7:17-18
Anyone who wants to do the will of God will know whether my teaching is from God or is merely my own. Those who speak for themselves want glory only for themselves, but a person who seeks to honor the one who sent him speaks truth, not lies.

Colossians 3:23-24
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

Much Love,

I love to Create!

I'm pretty sure none of my bridesmaids will see this before they get their cards in the mail. (If you do, forget you saw it and act surprised!!) I've always wanted to make cute little cards asking my best friends to be my bridesmaids. So here is what I came up with. (Each one is a little different.)

What do you think? I'm still looking for more ideas for my invitations. I will be making those too. I want to make as much as possible. I also just bought this awesome monogram stamper from Hobby Lobby today, HALF OFF!! I will be using this for a TON of stuff. I have images in my head of things I can use this stamper for years to come! Check out the website to see more of their stuff.

31 Days of Praying for my Husband-to-be: Day 29

~~~~~*~~~~~
Day 29
Pray that your husband will surrender his time and talents to the Lord. Pray that his spiritual gifts will be manifest in his career, at church, and in your home.
Ephesians 5:15-16 (New International Version)
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
1 Corinthians 12:4, 7 (New International Version
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all.
A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.
31 Days of Praying for my Husband-to-be: Day 28
~~~~~*~~~~~

Day 28
Pray that your husband will be a man of prayer. Pray that he will seek and pursue God in purposeful quiet times.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
Never stop praying.

Luke 22:46
“Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation.”

James 5:16
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

Salute the Troops Concerts!

This weekend has already been BUSY! And it's not even over yet. For those of you who don't know, my husband-to-be is a soldier. Friday night we went to the Salute the Troops concert at Ft Campbell KY. The performers were John Rich (of Big & Rich), Jake Owen, Hank Williams Jr, and last, but certainly not least, Carrie Underwood! We were so excited. The bad thing was, we got there an hour before the concert started. We were soooo far away from the stage that, the few times we actually did see the performers, they looked smaller than 1/4 of an inch tall! But it was still fun. We were there til 11:30pm!

Tonight though... Matthew's best friend, Rodney Watts, got to open for Rodney Atkins! We were so excited. We got there around 2pm. Wanna see how close we were to the stage?

NO ZOOM ON THIS PEOPLE!!!

It was so much fun. Rodney was awesome. Both of them! LOL! Here's just a few of the pics. I have the rest on my facebook.

Singing the song "Coming Home" about soldiers.

I'm gonna add a few more, but my computer is being a butt right now. Check back tomorrow!

31 Days of Praying for my Husband-to-be: Day 27

~~~~~*~~~~~
Day 27
Pray that your husband will understand the importance of taking care of his body—the temple of the Holy Spirit—for the glory of God. Pray that he will practice self-control by making wise food choices, and get sufficient exercise to stay healthy.
Romans 12:1-2
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
1 Corinthians 9:27
I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.
My Husband-to-be Rocks!
This week I was feeling pretty crappy. I can't really explain it. It just wasn't a great week for me. Physically, emotionally, mentally. My amazing husband-to-be was so sweet. He did laundry. He made dinner. He even gave me a back rub. (With a back massager thing. LOL!) It made me feel so much better. I am so lucky.
Today we have been together for 9 months. And exactly one year from today, we will become husband and wife.
YAY!!!
Much Love,
31 Days of Praying for my Husband-to-be: Day 26
~~~~~*~~~~~

Day 26
Pray that your husband will discover and live his God-given purpose. Pray that he will offer all his dreams to the Lord, and pursue only those goals that will bring God glory and count for eternity.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

1 Corinthians 10:31
So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Sometimes people just IRK me

Sometimes the US Army really irks me. Or more specifically, the guys in the Army band that my husband-to-be works with. They had a gig tonight about an hour away. Matthew wanted us to go, so he was going to ride with us. Well, then he decided to go with the band, so we wouldn't have to sit out in the sun for several hours before they even started. Their form time was 4pm, leaving at 4:15pm. He got there at 4pm and they were already gone! They had left at 3:55pm. He was so mad because they left 20 minutes before they were supposed to and didn't even wait to see if he was going to ride with them.

Needless to say, he called me in a state of panic because he didn't have gas or money for gas, so I had to run to the gas station with some cash. Then he was frustrated because we weren't ready to go and now we have to drive 2 cars.

Oh well. C'est la vie.

Much Love,

31 Days of Praying for my Husband-to-Be: Day 25

Psalm 31:24
So be strong and courageous,
all you who put your hope in the Lord!

Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

2 Timothy 2:1-2
Timothy, my dear son, be strong through the grace that God gives you in Christ Jesus. 2 You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.

New Moon

I FINALLY finished New Moon! After a month of not even being able to FIND it, with is being hidden in the depths of my overflowing storage unit. I have finished reading it. Loved it.

So now I'm on to Eclipse. I was waiting until it came out in paperback. I'm so picky. I don't know why, but I don't like hardcover books. So I didn't want to buy Eclipse until I could get paperback. Then I was getting close to the end of New Moon and I didn't want to have to wait for much longer to start reading Eclipse. I bought it. In hardcover.

Last night, Matthew tells me they have it at Walmart. IN PAPERBACK!! After I bought the hardcover book 4 days before!!! UGH!

We took the hardcover copy back today so I could get my paperback copy. Now I'm going to go read it. HEHE!

Much Love,

My Husband-to-Be Rocks!

My amazing husband-to-be works very hard. He has two jobs. His part time job is a server at Outback Steakhouse. This job really wears him out, especially after working all day at his main job. His main job is a Sergeant in the United States Army. I am so proud of him. He has been in the military for almost 17 years.

This picture was taken in March. Before he started to lose the weight. (I will try to get a new pic in uniform, but he is very picky about that!)

In the last couple of years or so he has been struggling with weight problems. It got to the point where we were concerned about his future in the military. Well, in the last few months (since May) he has gotten almost all the way down to his ideal weight. He is such an inspiration for me!

SO PROUD!

Much Love,

31 Days of Praying for my Husband-to-Be: Day 19
