My Thoughts

I can't ever think of any intriguing, funny, or thought provoking things to say on my blog. Much less the Title! I used to be much better at this. That was kind of my point in starting this blog anyways. To work on my writing skills, etc. Yet, here I am, a year after I started my blog. Am I getting better at it? No.

Well, maybe. Ha ha!

Right now I have to go make dinner for my grandparents. I'll write more later.

Much love,

Needed Prayers

For those of you who haven't already seen it on Facebook, my Grandpa is in the hospital. I was visiting my boyfriend when my mom called. She said "How many clothes do you have with you?" Confused, I answered "Enough for the weekend, why?" (This was Monday, after the weekend that I had been in Clarksville.) She said "I need you to drive to Louisville because Grandpa is in the hospital." Basically, my aunt can't take much time off of work to stay with them, and Grandma can't stay by herself. They are both having problems with their kidneys. We knew about Grandma's. She is going to have to start dialysis(sp?) soon. Grandpa on the other hand, we had no clue about his kidney problems until like last week. The drs are saying that his have been getting worse for a while now. They said this morning that he's functioning on 30% of his kidneys. THAT'S NOT GOOD!

My aunt told me yesterday that she had taken him to the dr for an appointment. They drew blood for a test and then they left. They ran a few errands and then wentback for the results, which were basically "Your kidneys are not working correctly" So they left again to run more errands. Then he got a call from the dr saying "We need you to come to the emergency room. This could be fatal." And Grandpa's response to that was "Well, I don't think I can come back today."

AGH!!!!!

So, I'm here. In Louisville. At the hospital. With the best grandparents and aunt in the entire world. Please keep us all in your prayers.

Much love,

I love my Nashville!

After all the years I have lived in Nashville TN.... Music City USA.... the CAPITAL of not only country music, but Christian music.... (Which is the majority of what I listen to) This was the FIRST time I got to go to the Dove Awards. Not only did I get to go, but it was the 40th Annual Dove Awards! And MAN was it awesome! Hannah got to go last year, but she this one was 10 times better.

Ironically, I also got to go to 2 other GMA Week events! Granted, they were both because Matthew wanted to go, but I had a great time. The first one was a listening party for the christian metal band Stryper. Matthew has been a fan of Stryper since he was like 13. (Maybe younger) And this was the first time he got to meet the lead singer, Michael Sweet. He was so excited.

Then on Tuesday, we (we being me, Matthew, and our friend Rachel) went to BB Kings for the Doc & Pony Show. They did a showcase of new and old artists. Some of them being: Life Out Loud, Soul Sister Sally (formed by former Casting Crowns drummer Andy Williams and his wife), Devyn (AWESOME), Joy Lippard, Manic Drive, Ashley Cleveland, and Michael Sweet & Oz Fox from Stryper. Plus more.

So, yeah. It was awesome. This time Matthew got to meet Oz Fox. He was thrilled.

All in all, it was a fun week! I tried to take pics at the Dove Awards, but they didn't turn out too great. Gotta love the balcony! LOL!

Army Wives

Has anyone watched this show? I really want to watch it, but I want to start with the first season. The 3rd season is about to start, so I'm wondering if anyone has the first 2 on dvd?

And who has read/seen Twilight? I just watched it today. I read the book about a month ago. I'm working on the 2nd one now. But the movie left so much out! I mean, I liked it, but it's so not as good as I thought it would be. The book is soooooo much better! If you've seen the movie, but not read the book, please.... stop what you are doing right now and go read the book. It's great!

Well, I'm bored. I'm gonna go read.

Spring Break

So this past week was LOOONNGG!!! But fun. It was Matthew's daughters' spring break. We drove to NC to pick up the 2 youngest. Callie and Carey. The drive is 10-12 hours. With just the 2 of us, it was awesome. We had so much fun. Add an 11 year old and a 14 year old....still fun, but with a little more arguing. LOL! But that's what kids do. The trip taking them home wasn't quite as much fun, but that's ok.

During the week we went to Gatlinburg TN (the day we picked them up). We spent the night in Pigeon Forge and then the next day we went to Ripley's Aquarium. SO much fun. Some other highlights of the week, The Hermitage, The Adventure Science Center, Rainforest Cafe, etc etc etc.

On other notes, today is mine and Matthew's 5 month anniversary! Kinda crazy to think it's been 5 months. But it's been the best 5 months of my life. He is so amazing. I love him so much. I can't wait to move closer to him. (In TWO MONTHS!!!)

Well, it's late. I'm still exhausted from this past week. I'm going to bed. PEACE!

Birthday Fun!

Today is my birthday! I'm 24 today. Kinda crazy to think about that. But anyways.

It's been an interesting day. I kinda just lounged around all morning and then I did some errands. Went to Walmart and helped Rachel grocery shop. LOL!

When I got home I had flowers waiting for me. I have the BEST boyfriend in the world. He also sent me a music card that is Friends and plays the Friends theme song! Hehe. He knows me so well.

I got a couple of other birthday cards too. One from my grandparents with some birthday money in it. One from my best friend Kelly that had a Target gift card in it! And then on Sunday, my family, Matthew, Rachel, Falon, Allison, Brian and his mom all went to Sakura Japanese Steakhouse to celebrate my birthday. Falon gave me a Lane Bryant gift card, a purple stationary set, a purple photo album, and scrapbook stickers. (She knows me so well too!) Rachel gave me Pinocchio on DVD for my collection! And she's knitting me a prayer shawl. YAY!

Matthew and I are going to celebrate/he's giving me my gifts next week, while his youngest 2 daughters are here. We're leaving on Saturday to go pick them up from North Carolina and then bringing them back here for the week. I'm excited. I've been planning a bunch of activities. We're doing tourist-y things like going to the Hermitage, Country Music Hall of Fame, Tennessee State Museum, Adventure Science Center, etc, etc, etc. And I think on the way to take them home next weekend, we may stop in Gatlinburg to go to Ripley's Aquarium. I REALLY want to do that!

So, overall, it was a pretty good birthday. I got lots of calls, texts, and messages on Facebook. And my birthday celebrations are still not over! I've got next week with Matthew and the girls, and then the next week my Aunt will be here for work, so she's giving me my birthday stuff then. YAY! I love birthdays!

Well, I'm gonna go watch the movie I rented. Much love.
